Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency (SBPRA) has announced the sale of its eBook catalogue for distribution throughout Korea. The contract was officially signed during the London Book Fair 2012 and adds to SBPRA’s growing global distribution network for its authors and clients: similar distribution deals are already in place for China, India, Taiwan, and Russia.
SBPRA has contracted with Language World Digital (LWDigital), a Korean based distributor, for over 700 e-book titles. LWDigital is the digital arm of Language World, which has been one of leading companies for ELT publication and distribution in Korea for over 10 years. LWDigital will sell, distribute and market SBPRA’s eBooks to its extensive online retailers, mobile carriers, and libraries throughout Korea.
At the London Book Fair, SBPRA CEO Robert Fletcher noted the size and scope of the Rights buyers present; there were over 200 tables of rights buyers from around the world in the Fair’s Rights Centre. In terms of their interest, he said “We see that eBooks are the fastest way for the developing nations to bring English content to their people, and then, once the books get sales and exposure, the POD and print books follow. Our global road trip, where we visit all of the biggest publishing tradeshows, is paying off for our authors and our company. The future looks bright.”
