With the holidays upon us, Strategic is asking its family of authors to reach out and help a fellow author. Lisa Caretti’s son, eleven year old Joey, is battling leukemia, this after having had a rare form of brain cancer not once but twice. Although the brain cancer was cured, a chemotherapy drug used in the process caused Joey to get leukemia. “It was only a two-percent chance, so we took the two-percent chance,” Lisa Caretti said. “You wonder if you made the wrong choice, but really there was no other way.” Now Joey faces more chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
And what does Joey want? What would put a smile on this brave boy’s face?
Cards. Get well cards. That is what he is asking and hoping for. Not toys, not money…cards.
“I have to admit, it really does make me happy,” he said.
His family and friends are asking us all to drop him a card in the mail to encourage him to stay strong as he fights this battle. The goal is to get a thousand cards sent! Please join in to support this member of the SBPRA family. Cards can be mailed to:
