Imelda Cummins-DeMelkon, W.G. Griffiths, Barbara Prignano and Kenneth Rogers, Jr. have been recognized at the 2012 New York Book Festival for their recently published work. This annual festival celebrates books that the judges feel deserve greater recognition from the word’s publishing capital.

The Modern Voice of an Irish Immigrant, by Imelda Cummins-DeMelkon, received Honorable Mention in the Autobiography/Biography category. W.G. Griffiths’ Methuselah’s Pillar was an eBook selection for Honorable Mention. Barbara Prignano received Honorable Mention in the Children’s category with her How Bunnies Got Their Cottontails and Kenneth Rogers, Jr.’s Sequence was awarded Honorable Mention for Science Fiction.

The Modern Voice of an Irish Immigrant explores what motivates a woman to leave her native land behind and settle in another country. Imelda Cummins-DeMelkon writes a fascinating account of her experiences growing up in Ireland as one of 12 children, and the struggles and challenges that led her to immigrate to the United States.
