I’d say from personal experience Strategic is different from what you would call a vanity publisher. They will actually support you so long as you are willing to put in some good effort (which is like any other publisher). When I was making my decision, I realized that if I was to self publish and pay for all of the steps myself; it would cost me a boat load. SBPRA was a much better option. The other types of publishers I saw (especially the publish on demand ones) were not up to par in my opinion. SBPRA has numerous authors in the UK and in Australia. The printing facility they use has locations in both countries also. They are working heavily with international rights buying so I’d say they are pretty much on the up and up
