Doris Green in Attitude Magazine

Doris Green’s autobiography No Longer an Oral Tradition: My Journey Through Percussion Notation has been glowingly reviewed in Attitude Magazine. The author is the creator of Greenotation, through which African music and dance can be written in a single integrated score that can be read and performed from a printout, giving a way to preserve music that otherwise was disappearing as the aging musicians died off.

Every student in the African Diaspora, whether studying in Africa or abroad, can benefit from her work, and it is extremely fortunate for us that her work continues; her contributions are priceless, writes reviewer Shani Sterling.
